Bangkok Internship #16

Day 15
I’m certain that Today was the busiest day of ever days I spent. At first, I went to the civil court early in the morning. I planed to observe the proceeding. However, the time the court started working was late and other proceedings before us took much time, so our task finally finished almost at noon.

After I had lunch, I tackled the task allocated to me. I thought especially today’s, today’s task was tough for me. Partly because I was luck of sleep, so I couldn’t concentrate on them. Since there were some causes such as waiting for customer’s reply, any task are not completed now. Tomorrow and after, I must finish these tasks as soon as their reply comes.

Now at 17:25, I’m writing this but today will not finish yet. Our manager invited me to the study meeting that Japanese lawyers in Thai learn Thai Law. I think it is really good opportunity to be motivated and make meaningful connection.

Thanks to this internship, I’m thinking positively about lawyer, and business regarding law. As recalling the original purpose of this internship, I just wanted to experience working abroad. It was a nice mistake that in addition to the original purpose, I could get a chance to consider my future.

Although a long day will be continued from now on, I’ll keep on going.

Bangkok Internship #15

Day 14
Today, early in the morning, I got up because of loud voice outside like shout.  I couldn’t sleep well, and I’m not sure what it was. It was a little scary for me.

well, let’s switch the main story.  Today I had what I wanted to do. It is “Baseball”. Baseball is very popular in Japan but except Japan and America, it doesn’t seem to be popular. And I’ve played baseball for over ten years, so I would like to swing a bat and get refreshed.

The other day I talked about this to my colleagues, then she told me there were batting centers in Bangkok. At that time I decided to go there and today I could.

I searched and found that near my apartment, so it took only 15 minutes to get there.

There wasn’t any person in this facility so I was a little concerned it was closed today, but entered inside, I could meet the person who seemed to manage there, and paid 200 baht to 2 games, then went to batter’s box.

Before starting, I was afraid that control of pitching machine was not good and dangerous. However, to my surprise, control was really good. I think this pitching machine is better than most of the Japanese one.

Regarding my batting, I want you to watch my video. It was so hot that my decayed legs couldn’t endure. I sweared even if I was busy, I tried to train my legs.

Now I’m writing at Cafe Amazon I often go to. I have many things I have to do for tomorrow and future. I feel refreshed and seem to be able to deal with these.

 See you.

Bangkok Internship #14

Day 13
Weekend has come! However, to tell the truth, I didn’t have any plan so I would rather work in order to kill time. (It’s a kind of Japanese spirits.)

Anyway, I didn’t want to waste much money so I went to foodcourt at terminal 21. As I introduced there before, it is so cheap that I can have everything I want. Today, I ate Korean Pork with rice. It was so good. Recently, I’ve had Korean food many time and today I found “North Korean restaurant”, so I’d like to try it.

After that, I went to Lumphini park. This park is famous for its size and certain animal so the main purpose was to see that animal.

As soon as I entered there, I could met it. It was "monitor lizard”. Since I’ve not seen it before, I was really surprised and a little frightened.

In Lumphini park, many monitor lizards lives. I could find 4 lizards this time and one of them was just having insects, so there was like a zoo. The shape of a monitor lizard is really like dinosaur, so I was really excited by them!

In the afternoon, I met my friend in Chula and went to dinner. Then, I explored around Chula university. It was so fun because I went there for the first time in over one year. I'm Jealous of the facility that there is a large gym, stadium, cafe, and so on, compared to certain university in Japan…(in Kyoto)

Ahh I just now remembered that I didn’t work out well lately, so I must do it after returning to Japan,,,

See you, enjoy weekend.

Bangkok Internship #13

Day 12
Friday has come. I felt this week passed so fast. Partly because this Monday was a holiday. Others, I’ve already gotten used to working. Actually, I had been spending really lazy day in Japan, so I was afraid that I couldn’t hold on. I’m so relieved I could have been working well so far.

Today, so sleepy day. Sleepy, ง่วงนอน, 眠い, 困, soñoliento…. However, I managed to endure their threat and finished office hour.

Well, what I did today is not so different from yesterday but I overcame one thing. It is “calling”.

Recalling last week, I didn’t handle calling task well so I decided if next chance came, I dealt with it well.

Today, that time came. A manager assigned me calling to certain bank. To tell the truth, I was nervous about that but I prepared  and organized the purpose for calling.

This time, recipient is a Thai, so I spoke to him slowly and carefully. Thanks to this, I succeeded to get necessary information without any trouble. I felt a little confident and would like to call just in English.

Now I’m writing this on duty (cause I finished what I should do!) and after that, our boss will take me to high-class restaurant. I’m looking forward that and weekends

Have a nice holiday. See you.

Bangkok Internship #12

Day 11
I was wide awake compare to last two days. Partly because I got much protein from dinner yesterday. (555)

Today I assigned new task. It is “template”. I produced the document model which mentioned the requirements for startup in Thai. I translated some clauses in English into Japanese. This task requires not only accuracy but also the comprehensive faculty. It seems to be important work, and I managed to complete it.

In the afternoon, I went to certain government office with a colleague. He said this place was significant for people who conducted business in Thai, so this outside work was really meaningful for me. On our way to this office, he bought me shaved ice so I was refreshed.

After finished work, I had dinner at Terminal 21. While staying Bangkok, I really often go and eat there. That is because the price is very cheap. It must be cheaper than you expect. Please look at a below picture. These two dishes just cost 70 baht in the total. (About 240~250yen) In addition, these taste good and safe, so I really recommend this foodcourt.

Tomorrow is the last working day in this week, so hang on.

See you.

Bangkok Internship #11

Day 10

Today is a calm day. That is because I didn’t have much work and quickly finished it. Now I’m writing this on office hours.

…and now I just came back my room. It is relatively late, That is because my colleagues I introduced yesterday took me to yakiniku.

This yakinikuya, which is located along Sukhumvit soi 22, was really great. I’ve never eaten such a delicious beef ever before. I was satisfied with it, and we could talk about many things.

Especially, I was very interested in "working as lawyer”. Honestly speaking, I thought lawyer had tended to be passive, stable, and not much needed to communicate with others. However, this thoughts changed since I heard from him.

He said “lawyer is like a sole proprietor, it’s rather unstable but free, so it is up to myself whether it will go well or not.”

I was surprised about that. Actually, I wasn’t much motivated for studying law because I hadn’t felt lawyer attractive well. However, his thought about lawyer influences me and I decided to study law more sincerely.

Today is like that. Good night.

Bangkok Internship #10

Day 9

The 2nd week has started today, but I was less nervous than last  week because I was already getting accustomed to workplace's circumstances.

Today, our company employed a new Thai person. I greeted him and introduced myself (as if I’ve worked for a long time, 555).

Then, I met a Japanese lawyer. He was really friendly and talkative, so I asked him many things like about work, hobby, and so on. He said that it was not easy to work as a lawyer so we should have positive attitude to work. Thanks to his opinion, I changed my thought about the image of lawyer. From tomorrow, I’ll speak to him more.

After that, I tackled my task. What bothered me was the interpretation of the law. It was the code of civil procedure in Thai. Even if Japanese law is so hard to understand, it goes without saying that Thai law. I really respected the lawyers around the world who understand and use such a difficult thing.

Now I’m writing in cafe, and after this The soccer game, Thai vs UAE will start at 7PM, so I must watch this game.

Bye bye~.
