Bangkok Internship #3

Day2
In the morning, I’ve not been assigned any task so I thought what I should do. Since I don’t have any license about my business, I cannot do too professional work.

Then I came up with the idea that I would manage SNS and publicize what our firm do, but as soon as I got this idea, the manager allocated me the task.

My first assignment was “translation” from Japanese to English.

At first glance, translation is not so difficult job. That is because I’m not bad at reading and writing skills necessary for it.

However, I realized Translation for Business, this was completely another thing.

First and foremost, before translation, I need to understand what the whole Japanese sentences means. It is important to translate not a word to word but sentences to sentences.

Then I should concern about technical terms. That is really complicated regardless of which language is. For example, 「代理」is the word different between general meaning and technical meaning in Japan. Also in English, “representative” have some complicated meaning.(「代理」and「代表」)

I was so getting in trouble about that, and from tomorrow, I will think think think the definition and terminology. It must be tough for me but I try to do.

Of course I keep it a try to do conversation more fluently.

Reading, writing, listening and speaking. These are four skills composing language.

I’ve never encountered such a nice opportunity. Keep going.
